Welcome to Venture Square: how to start your first business

By Maarten Kasanmoerawi · · 1 min read

Your own city, a crossroads full of buildings and one goal: getting your own business up and running. Here is how to take the first steps.

A city that is yours

When you create an account, you get your own Venture Square: a crossroads with buildings, a bus stop, the subway overhead and passers-by going about their day. That is where you build your business.

Three steps to your own business

  1. Name your city. Pick your avatar and come up with a name for your Venture Square. Once you confirm, you are right there.
  2. Set up your business. The route map takes you past the Chamber of Commerce, the bank, the tax office and the accountant. Just like in real life.
  3. Open your doors. Choose your premises, set your prices, buy stock and open your business.

What you learn

  • How purchasing, stock and selling price are connected.
  • Why revenue is not the same as profit.
  • How one choice, like a higher price, affects your results.
Run a Business. Make Decisions. See Results.
